There are thousands of blogs in regards of blogging basics. Honestly, to compile all of them may not be a wise move as more and more tips are written each day. Listed herein are some of the fundamentals you may need as a jumpstart.

  • Whatever styles you choose, always consult you interest and expertise. Without it, you won’t get far yet alone become a successful blogger. Keep in mind though. No matter how successful a niche is to your friend, always ask yourself, “Is this the right niche for my blog?”
  • There are many blogging platforms out there. Get some knowledge on the platform you are going to use, especially on the pros and cons. You don’t want to waste your time by learning Blogger platform today and move to WordPress on the next day. In fact, experience bloggers did the same thing. Learn from their mistakes.

  • Link to the topic at hand when referring to obscure things! You can and will lose potential new readers if they aren’t able to follow what you’re discussing.
  • Don’t abuse your authority even it is your blog. Be humble. We are not living alone and share the same opinions all the time. What looks best to you might be worst to others.
  • Promote your blog consistently. It can be done in many ways. Add subscribe buttons, link to other blogs or posts, leave comments on other blogs, and participate in forums.
  • Focus on your post. Make it short whenever possible unless you have the point of doing so. More important is, make it clear, simple and easy to read.
  • Keep writing even if you don’t know what to write.
